Witch Cupcakes

I got this from Pinterest but the picture came from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.  I made the homemade version for Halloween Party.

I got the cute stripey cupcake holder and baked chocolate mix with homemade cake icing and tinted green.  Then I just got the colored straws at Walmart and cut.  Then printed the shoes on paper, cut out a shoe and traced onto black card stock.  Then cut out and added to the straws.  When I cut out the shoes I left a little leg on and the skinny let fit down inside the straw and was more secure I felt.

Conclusion:  great project to do with the kids.  Not sure how everyone will like since party is tomorrow night.  I will update and let you know how they turned out.

Sugar Sheet Cup Cakes

I found this on Pinterest here.  Jaclyn Designs

Did a little research and found this.

I found these sugar sheets at Wal-mart and made these cupcakes for Kolby's 11th birthday.

I cut circles with cookie cutters out of zebra print sugar sheet then placed on a cupcake that has a small layer of icing on already.  ( To get the glitter on edge I held circle with 2 fingers and dipped the edge into water then into pink sugar sprinkles).  Then I used smaller cookie cutter and cut small circle out of pink sugar sheet and dipped in water then sprinkles and placed on top of zebra print circle.  Then piped K with black icing on top.  Everyone loved them and the sugar sheet did not change the taste of the cupcakes at all.

(Note:  To get the sugar sheets to stick to each other dot a small amount of water on one of the pieces, and the longer I worked with the sheet they collected moisture from the air and became stickier and stuck to everything.)

Conclusion:  I had fun with these sugar sheets and will use them again if needed.
