Witch Cupcakes

I got this from Pinterest but the picture came from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.  I made the homemade version for Halloween Party.

I got the cute stripey cupcake holder and baked chocolate mix with homemade cake icing and tinted green.  Then I just got the colored straws at Walmart and cut.  Then printed the shoes on paper, cut out a shoe and traced onto black card stock.  Then cut out and added to the straws.  When I cut out the shoes I left a little leg on and the skinny let fit down inside the straw and was more secure I felt.

Conclusion:  great project to do with the kids.  Not sure how everyone will like since party is tomorrow night.  I will update and let you know how they turned out.

Halloween Pumpkin 2012

Joey and the girls cleaned the guts out (Lidia loves to say that) and carved the pumpkin last night.  Happy Halloween.

Germ Juice

Here is the one I made for our wonderful Teacher's for Back to school goodies.  Would be cute for Halloween gift also.  I just bought these mini hand sanitizers at the Dollar Tree.  It was pack of 3 for 4 $1.00.  Then Printed the words and little germ man on clear sticker full sheet printable.  I took off the original labels, stuck on the new ones and tied little ribbon around lid and curled it with scissors.  

Conclusion:  I think it turned out really cute.  I hope the Teachers enjoyed.

Collection of gross things.

So this one is fun and easy.  I started collecting all sizes of jars.  The big one is pickle jar and the smaller ones are spaghetti sauce, pickle, and jelly jars.  I just went to Dollar Tree and bought a collection of things to put in jars.  I added water to some and even dye to give a gross effect.  My jars contained fingers, spiders, eyeballs(gum balls) and a big hand.  I put these in my kitchen window so they could be seen from outside also.

Conclusion:  The kids loved this one.  Easy and cheap to do.  I emptied out the water to save for the next year.

Monster and Mumie cupcakes.

To make the monster ones I tented the icing green and used the grass tip.  Then just added chocolate chips for the eyes.  To make the mummies I used the basket weave tip and placed the eyes on then added one more strip of icing to semi cover the eyes.  

Conclusion:  Kids loved the cupcakes and very easy to make.

Monster in the door way.

Got this monster cling at the Dollar General.  Just cost few dollars.  Put cling on the clear glass door.  At night the lights from inside the house lit it up perfectly.

Conclusion:  Kids loved this one also.

Bloody hand.

So here are the bloody hands I did for last years Halloween Party.  It turned out really good.

I used red water based paint.  Squirted out paint on my hand rubbed them together then just placed my hands on the surface (not even) then dragged my hands down.  As I got to the bottom I picked up my hands so the red paint got faint.  The shower curtain was clear and I added a small battery operated tea light candle to the window.  It totally looked real and the kids loved it.  After Halloween clean up was a cinch with window cleaner.

Conclusion:  Kids loved this so it was a success.

Spiders on the door.

About this time last Halloween we were planning a big birthday party for Blake that was an Halloween party for all her Friends at school.  I searched Pinterest for great ideas and will be posting a few I found and tried.  I found these magnetic spiders to put on the door.  I wanted to try this on my back door but I cheated and just used packing tape.  I bought the spider rings and cut the rings off and it turned out so cute.  I am not terrified of spiders but some people are.  Those people used the front door.  This would look so cute in a neighborhood on the front door that gets a lot of trick or treater's.  I also found rubber snakes done this way to but I am one of those people terrified of snakes and would not even be able to sleep with snakes on the door.  You could put the snakes going up the steps to the porch.

Conclusion:  This pinterest project turned out cute.  It was great idea and most of all the kids loved it.
